UpSideDown – Circus and Space | 2017

UpSideDown – Circus and Space | 2017

UpSideDown – Circus and Space examined the question of space in the context of traditional, new, and contemporary circus. Its aim was to deepen the knowledge obtained at the previous conference. Fields such as liminal spaces, theories of place and space, borders, and border crossing, performing in and mapping space, and transnational spaces were also considered.

The conference was attended by the graphic recorder Andreas Gärtner, who captured the main findings of the lectures and discussions visually. Based on this work, UpSideDown – An academic graphic novel and UpsideDown – A travelling exhibition were created.
